Karen Haddad has extensive experience in the field of Performance and Sport Psychology. Karen completed her Master of Psychology (Sport Psychology) in 2006 at the University of Western Sydney and has since provided psychological servicing and education in many settings including: High Performance Sport for the Australian Institute of Sport and the New South Wales Institute of Sport; National and State based sport bodies/associations; University lecturing and tutoring; and performance enhancement in the High School setting.
Karen currently is the Performance Psychologist for teams in the NRL, Suncorp Super Netball and the AFLW. Karen has worked with Australian Women’s Basketball Team, the Australian Men’s Netball Team and other National teams. In these roles Karen provides psychological support to the coaches, staff, athletes and the team to maximise their performance and develop a cohesive and powerful unit. Athletes and teams that Karen has worked with have achieved Olympic and Paralympic Medals and Qualifications, World Championship Medals and National Titles including Suncorp Super Netball Premierships.
Karen successfully works with elite, pathway and recreational athletes and coaches, utilising the therapeutic approaches of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) along with performance strategies to help each client reach their potential. Karen is known for her warm, empathetic and supportive approach and has an outstanding ability to connect with her clients. Karen is also highly skilled at presenting psychological concepts and strategies to individuals, teams and large groups in a practical, relevant and an engaging way.
